Presenting to the European Parliament!

We have been invited to present the results of our work on m-learning to the European Parliament in the October 2004!

m-learning the project draws to a close. m-learning the vision lives on!

By the end of September, the EU-funded m-learning project comes to an end. As one thing finishes, another starts and CTAD have already been involved in several other mobile learning initiatives and developments. Phase 2 learner research and learning materials and systems trials

The 15 collaborating organisations have existing support relationships with groups of adults in our target audience. These adults are aged 16-24, and have literacy and numeracy needs. The organisations are busy collaborating with us in our phase 2 research and trials of learning materials and systems. There are 11 collaborating organisations in the UK, including English, Scottish and Welsh organisations, two in Sweden and two in Italy.

This work will continue until July 04 and anaylsis and reporting of the findings will take place between July and September 04.

Our research activities are exploring aspects of how these young adults use mobile technologies to improve their literacy, numeracy skills and life skills. This includes how they interact with, and experience, the learning materials and systems designed by the project; whether their enthusiasm for learning appears to be improved by their mobile learning experiences; whether learning gains are made, including young adults' perceptions of their progress; and different models of learning and support, e.g. collaborative learning, individual learning (with or without peer support), online tutoring, blended learning and standalone units of learning.
