Family Photography and How It Can Hold Special Milestones In Our Lives

Each and every person in the world celebrates various kinds of milestones in their lives. The country you live in, the religion you follow, tradition and culture you practice, your status or living conditions and beliefs are the basis for the list of significant events that you will celebrate in your lifetime. The most basic event that every person surely knows and celebrates is their birthday. Every year, the day a person is born is remembered through big or small gatherings. However, when they reach a certain age, some people believe that they’ve achieved certain milestones that are very important. Thus, it should be celebrated in an extra ordinary way.

The very first milestone that people usually commemorate is their first birthday.

Most of the time, regardless of the availability of resources in terms of finances, every parent will look for a way to at least give their child a small celebration. From home cooked meals that are only made on special occasions, a cake or anything sweet where a small candle can be blown is provided. The next special event is the baptism for Catholics or the Dedication day for Christians. They follow a small blessing or ritual, which formally welcomes the child to their community. After which you wait for another seven years when most parents prepare a grand celebration for their child. This signifies that he or she is no longer a baby and is about to enter boyhood/ girlhood. Also, the child enters a higher level in school by this time.

In some countries, a person celebrates his or her thirteenth birthday while others consider sixteen as the age where they can formally be treated and respected as a teen. By this time, most girls and boys start to see different changes physically, emotionally and mentally. After which, a girl will be formally welcomed in society when they turn eighteen as they celebrate their debut. Before, they need to have a former cotillion where there are eighteen special men and women who played a significant role in this person’s life. However, nowadays they’ve innovated the usual traditions into something that is more appropriate with the different changes around us.

The next set of major milestones is as follows, wedding, the birth of the couple child, fiftieth birthday, silver and golden wedding anniversaries, etc. Aside from these important events there are also some individual’s who consider graduating from high school and college, getting their first jobs, getting promoted and retiring as a big part of the important celebrations in every persons lifetime. Whatever occasion or special event we are celebrating, we shouldn’t miss having family photography , that will capture the priceless and happiest moments in those special days. These photographs or videos are considered tangible items that we can from time to time go back and look at that will remind us of how specials and exciting that day was.

Movie Review August 2020 – The Lego Movie

Though Legos have recently made a stunning comeback, I will admit that the basic idea of a movie based on the brick-building activity made me a little hesitant. Hell, at least Transformers had a built-in the backstory! And look at how those movies turned out. Just look at the first one. But Legos? Yet, as I walked out of the theater, a gigantic, stupid, idiot grin on my face from the last ninety minutes of pure and utter joy, I realized not having a story makes Legos the perfect toy to get the cinematic treatment: it’s pure imagination. By not having a story, the filmmakers were free to tell any story, and the story directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street) weave — rather, construct — is smart, subversive, funny and filled with heart. This is early era Pixar good, as good as the original Toy Story and giving Toy Story 2 a run for its money as one of the finest examples of overall animated filmmaking in the CG era.

What makes Lord and Miller’s work so great is their attitude towards the tropes that move the Hollywood machine.

They are savvy enough to understand the cliches they are utilizing, in this case, the ‘Savior’ narrative, and can undermine expectations the way all good storytellers are able. The Lego Movie is more than breezy adventure and joke-a-minute-one liners; it’s a surprisingly thoughtful take on society’s need for conformity and individualism. You can’t have one without the other. A simple message, but my, the twists and turns and meta-narratives of it all is refreshing to see in a kid’s movie. Everyone is special, and for once, that doesn’t mean that nobody is special. Years from now, the children who saw this in theaters will rediscover it, and it will light a spark of curiosity and creativity in their brains. This is intelligent, adult filmmaking, packaged with bright colors and explosions to distract you from the lesson it’s teaching.

Emmett (voiced by Parks and Rec’s Chris Pratt) is as normal a guy you can imagine, people use to watch it on 123Movies site. He is a construction worker in the town of Bricksburg, a fiercely regulated metropolis overseen by President Business (Will Ferrell), who at the beginning of the movie was seen taking the powerful Kragle artifact. Emmett goes about his day, doing what he’s told to do (following the instructions, as it were), oblivious and unconcerned with the world at large. As happens to all smalltown farmboys, Emmett is mistaken for ‘The Special’ and gets caught between the forces of President Business and the rebellious group of Master Builders who seek to prevent Business from ‘freezing’ all the Lego worlds.

Joining Emmett are punk-rock ass-kicker WyldStyle (Elizabeth Banks), the wise sage doomed to die Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), the cocky jerk with a heart of gold, Batman (the brilliant Will Arnett) and our two plucky comic relief characters, 80s Spaceguy Benny (Charlie Day) and Metalbeard (Nick Offerman) a pirate who has had dealings with Business before this movie. If that sounds a bit like Star Wars, it’s supposed to. This is the Hero’s Journey through and through. One of the best examples of the trope in years.

Oh, and it has been the best DC Comics movie ever put on screen, too. Your move, Snyder.

Put aside the third act twist (which you’re either going to love or hate). Put aside the meta-commentary or irony. What’s left is a thoroughly, mind-bogglingly entertaining adventure that only the blackest hearted among us would fail to smile at. The Lego Movie is filled with boundless imagination. A childlike sense of wonder. To a child, what’s awesome about Legos? EVERYTHING. A world made out of Legos is, by definition, awesome, and you’ll be humming those words for days afterward. There are breathless chases, perfectly executed comedy stylings, so many jokes that you’ll have to see it twice to get them all. And at just about 100 minutes, there is no drag or fat to be found. It is an expertly paced movie, it keeps your (and more importantly, your child’s) focus for each scene just long enough and then starts up all over again.

The voice cast is great. Pratt pretty much reprises Andy Dwyer, but he’s so good at the unassuming, super nice guy that his Emmett becomes the blank slate for all of us stuck in an office or job going nowhere. He’s the everyman we need. Elizabeth Banks reminds us why she is one of the most Banks-able (ba dum tss) female comedians, doing so much while pretending to be an animated brick character. Nobody does Morgan Freeman better than the man himself, but here he gets to get a little Gandalf (not Dumbledore) in him and loosen up a bit.

All of this is wrapped in a semi-stop motion style appropriate to the rigid construction parameters of Legos, which is then shoved into a cannon full of glitter and shot out onto the screen in an explosion of color sure to keep even the youngest in awe of everything that’s happening on screen. I saw the 2D version, so I cannot comment on the 3D, but with something this bright and colorful, the inevitable darkening that comes with a 3D screening is probably not worth the negligible motion effects that come with.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a perfect track record of films, and they understand the necessity of attempting to subvert the tropes of the past.

Everything in the modern world has become a product, a means to a bottom line. When Lord and Miller came onto The Lego Movie, they were doubtless faced with a choice: do we make a movie, or do we make a commercial? In the same way that they made one of the best send-ups of buddy cop movies, they looked to themselves and thought, ‘Why not make both?’ Sure, this is a 100-minute commercial that will send parents out to the stores so they can buy the Movie pieces, which is ironic considering one of the themes of the movie. But it is a commercial with a lot of humor and a lot of heart. As for those parents waiting in the checkout line, Lego boxes in hand, remember: knowing how to build (or do) something the way it’s meant to be is an important skill in the real world, but it’s way more fun to break it all down and make something yourself. If Legos, and The Lego Movie, teach us anything is that your imagination is only limited by the number of bricks you have.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Who does not like Star Wars? With the exception of a few stains in the six-story series (Jar Jar anyone?), the series is the most successful in the history of cinema. George Lucas finally has completed his 6 story sag with Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith. As I type this it is still ripping up everything in its path, collecting over 200 million in under 2 weeks. But before the movie hit the theaters, the games hit the videogame consoles. I was actually lucky enough to get to review this game at the last minute. With all of the things going on with E3 and flying to LA, I am finally back at my Florida office in sunny Florida. And I finally got to sit down and actually dig into this game. What people do not realize is that there is something very special deep within this game. It is not in the storyline, but in the multi-player modes that this little gem of a card has to offer us DS owners, playing it also with the 7ds.guide. So read on and see how Ubisoft has managed to make a very good Star Wars title for the Nintendo DS system.

The Game:

I think there is about one or two of you out there who has not seen the movie, so I will spare you all from any spoilers. The basis of the Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith game is exactly like the film. You basically turn to the dark side and you end up being Darth Vader. This game has you being Obi-Wan or Anakin Skywalker. The game is a 2D side scroller with some 3D action thrown in. The first thing you will notice is that the game has a very cartoon look to it. I guess since the game is done on a handheld the developers chose to go this route, making the game more believable and enjoyable. Either way it is very cool because it has a graphic novel feel to it. Anakin has his scar on his face, Palpatine looks short and funny, and so on.

You move through each level playing out the movie’s storyline. Anakin and Obi Wan can use their saber to attack as well as defend. You can also use the Force to pick up things and throw them, launch enemies back, etc. The DS version allows you to use the touch screen for various functions like special moves. The 2D action levels are actually much like a souped up version of the Game Boy Advance version. Some people may be disappointed in this. You do however get 3D levels where you have to fly around, duck and move your ship to avoid objects and fight other fighters. I found the 3D levels in the game kind of disappointing. The DS game has a battery back-up for your saves (3 slots). I must admit that the 2D and 3D aspects of the game are not bad, but I longed for more. It was not until I actually went into the multi-player modes that I actually found this.

First you need another person who owns a DS card to play the multiplayer modes. You can however appoint the other three players as bots. This is pretty much what I did. You can select from various levels and scenes from past and present Star Wars. You can fight in various places in the Star Wars Universe (even Hoth!). You can choose from many different star fighters (The Slave 1, The Millennium Falcon, X-Wing and more) as well as select your color. I found that these levels reminded me of the N64 versions of Star Wars Rogue Squadron. You fly around and collect various power-ups and weapons, shooting down other fighters who are trying to take you out as well. This section is what I found to be the heart and soul of this game card. Sure the regular game is OK, but this is pure dogfighting.

Graphics and Sound:

As I stated earlier, the game has a very cartoon look and quality to it. Colors are very pastel and weird at times. I guess I was hoping for a more realistic look, but the game still looks pretty good. You have all of the characters from Episode III in this game as well. The 3D levels during the game are so-so in terms of looks, but they are very fluid and they stay at a steady FPS rate. Some may gripe about the 3D levels in the actual game. The first 3D level you play in has you doing nothing but flying through mazes and ducking things. My fellow NLG Editor and PC guy Dan Comer found this boring. So people may get turned off with this. The 3D multi-player levels are great though. The ships you can select all look very nice and detailed as well. I also like the fact that you can change colors or your ships. People will either love or hate the looks of this game. I personally did not have too much of a problem with it. But I guess I wanted more out of the actual 3D in-game levels. The music, on the other hand, is excellent. The music is straight from the movie itself. The actual sound effects are also very good. But there is a lack of voices during the game.

The Bottom Line:

Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith DS is good, but not great. People will either love it or hate it. The cartoon graphics are pretty good for what they are, but some people may have wanted a more realistic look and feel to the movie. The 3D multi-player levels are excellent, but you need someone with another DS card. Thankfully you can just make the other 3 fighters as bots and have a go at it with them. If you had to choose from the Game Boy Advance game or this version, I would plop down the extra $10 for this. Either way, fans will buy this game no matter what.

What I love about no limit texas holdem

I consider myself an avid poker player but a professional by no means. In the past I played most every poker game available but the one I am crazy about is No Limit Texas Holdem. Some people do not find much difference between limit and no limit texas holdem but I consider them quite distinguishable. The very fact that there is an unlimited betting option, changes No limit Texas Holdem form the usually tamer limit version. It is easy to win big and lose big with just one hand. I truly believe that the ability to strong arm a player who has a short chip stack or use the chips themselves to strengthen what is really a weak hand are key factors that draw people to No Limit Texas Holdem.

For those that argue the only difference between Limit and No Limit Texas Holdem is the betting are probably inexperienced.

Sure, betting is the only difference in the ‘rules’ but this seemingly small difference allows for better bluffing strategies and requires a more skillful player in my opinion. No Limit Texas Holdem is not a game for the timid; it is a true testament to a game where skill and chance bear equal weight. No Limit Texas Holdem forces a player to play and thus the decisions to bet into a pot are important. The most comfortable position in No Limit Texas Holdem is definitely last. Last position affords a player the opportunity to gauge the strength of his/her opponents’ hands while deciding if the current bet is worth it to see the flop. The late position can always be bluffed into a bet but bluffing is as much a part of No Limit Texas Holdem as any other poker game.

The greatest appeal that no limit has for me is the ability to win big.

I am a patient player and I like to gauge my opponents at the table. I learned over the years that sometimes you have to lay down nice hands and wait for the right opportunity to seize a big pot. This strategy plays well at the No Limit Texas Holdem tables. You should always be prepared for a loss and even at times a big loss, anyone can be out played or out bet and unless you are holding the nuts there are never any guarantees. I remember a hand playing No Limit Texas Holdem where I went all-inn for $2000 only to see my Quad 7’s lose to Quad 10’s my opponent held pocket 10’s and I held pocket 7’s I figured him for trip 10’s by the way he called my bet but obviously he had the nuts. Sure it can be a tough cruel game, but that is what I love about No Limit Texas Holdem.

Do You Really Want A Custom Design Star Tattoo?

Many people who want a design of a star tattoo on their body may not have any idea what the resulting design will look like. Tattoo shops have a wide range of pictures and designs to choose from and can create practically any sort of tattoo design the customer wants. This design may be only one of an ouroboros tattoo design that the tattoo shop has in its catalog for clients to choose from.

There are many times when a customer won`t be able to decide what design might be right for them even when they see it in the tattoo shop catalog. The artist may have to alter the designs a bit to make it more of what the client has in mind. After a few tries, the customer will decide that the design is perfect and will allow the artist to begin work on the tattooing of his or her body. Many people are surprised at the level of pain that is involved with tattooing.

Some people aren’t bothered by it at all while others are bothered by it right from the start.

A lot of the difference in pain will also be because of the location of the tattoo design on the customer`s body. Any tattoo on a fleshy part of the body will not hurt nearly as much as any design that is tattooed on thinner skin such as that which is over bones such as at the wrist, ankle or knee.

There are many more tattoo shops in the world today because of the popularity of having tattoos done. There are popular television shows that dramatize tattoo shops and the artists that work in the day after day. The customers that come into the tattoo shop can be every bit as colorful as the tattoos that are applied to them. It makes for good television when there’s an element of drama, romance or emotion behind the reason for the customers having the tattoos done.

Some may want images of their favorite pet tattooed onto their bodies while others will simply settle for a set of matching designs for a couple to have. Whatever design the customers choose to have done the process will always be the same no matter what tattoo shop they get the work done in. Some tattoo shops will have a better ambiance or feel?
